There are so many events in your life that you want to hold on to, that you can look back on later in life with fond memories. If only the bridal or baby showers that family and friends gave you , or your wedding day could go on forever. I keep these memories alive with my wholesale memory books, which are some of my most treasured possessions. I have one photo wedding book devoted to the bridal shower my sister put on for me with some of my friends. I’ve got so many great pics of that very special night I shared with my friends. I’ve got pictures of the lovely decorations they had for my party and all the places we went that night, and all the fun things we did. The camera doesn’t lie: we had a blast. I’ve even got a couple pictures of the male dancers we went to see. They didn’t have any trouble holding our attention. That is definitely a night I’ll never forget, that was the first and only time I’ve ever been to a place that had male dancers. They may not have been in Playgirl, but they were definitely worth seeing.
When I chose all the accessories and reception supplies for our wedding, I also made sure I had a memory book for our photos of the wedding and reception. We had no shortage of pictures to put in it. In fact I knew to buy a couple of them, so I’d have enough space for all the pictures. Even after filling our wedding photo album with pictures there were still many photos left to find places for. On certain pages in one of the picture album books were places for the guests we invited to write their names down. They were both lovely personalized memory books with my first initial on the left, the initial of our last name, and on the right my husbands first initial. These books have such a look of elegance with it’s satin ribbon and gorgeous fabric. There are also refill pages available if needed, and we certainly need them.
I have picture books for every major moment that I’ve lived through. I don’t throw out my keepsake memory books, so I’m sure I’ll accumulate more and more. At the moment, I have books from my baby shower, wedding, and bachelorette party. My boy is one year old and my daughter’s about to turn three. Since we knew what we were having each time, I was able to order a pink book for her and a blue one for him. Their first step and christening and so forth are in the books. The baby memory books have pictures, handprints, and birth certificates stored there, too. I slipped an official invitation from the showers and wedding in each album as well. I could open up a photo gallery with all of the pictures I have stored away.
In spite of my husband’s frequent grumbling, I will keep those albums in my closet, because they are mementos of days that were special to me. With the new video camera I just bought, it’s going to be a little different, because now I have to clear room on some shelves in the den for the videos I’ll be making. I’ll probably have to make a lot more room, considering all the memory books we have and the ones I’ll be collecting through the next few years, plus plenty of videos of the kids growing up. Well, a person needs to be able to go back in time every now and then, that’s just a part of who I am. These years ahead are really important to a mom and I don’t want to miss out on one minute of it.
