In the academic year 2024-2025, total 23,002 first year students have enrolled in medical schools. It is 22 more students than last year, an increase of 0.10%.

Of the 23,002 first year medical students, 14,170 students enrolled in public and 8,832 enrolled in private medical schools.
By gender, there are 10,224 men (44.45%) and 12,634 women (54.93%) first year students.
By residency status, 13,824 students (60.10%) were from the state that the school is located in, and 9,179 students (39.90%) were from other state or abroad.
