In United States, there are 18 chiropractic schools offering Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C) degree accredited by Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE).

General Academic Requirements

Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C) program requires BS degree and some schools require at least 3 years of undergraduate education. To apply D.C. program, applicants must earn at least 90 semester hours (135 quarter hours) and carries a minimum of 3.0 GPA on a scale of 4.0. The common requirements are as following.
  • Completed undergraduate study (or 90 semester hours) at an accredited college or universities.
  • Undergraduate GPA 3.0 or above.
  • Students with Undergraduate GPA 2.75 - 2.99 may be eligible to apply Alternate admissions track program (AATP).
  • 24 semester hours (of 90 hours)in life and physical science courses.
  • Some course requires laboratory experiments.
  • English, Psychology, and/or Humanities and social sciences.
  • Meet each institute's technical standards.
In addition to the prerequisite course work, to apply chiropractic schools to earn Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C) degree, following components are commonly required.
  • Undergraduate transcripts and optionally graduate transcripts
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • Writing samples or essay
  • Resume or Curriculum Vitae
  • Interview
